Rule of Golf – Rule 6: The Player
The player and his/her caddie are responsible for knowing the rules and are explicitly responsible for their ball and their score at the completion of each round.

This is it, Golf is played on average on a 6,000 yard field, that equates to 6 miles or 6 football fields, it is the largest field of play in any sport. On this massive field there are obstacles some might refer to as traps, wind, water, sand, tall grass that slow the movement of the ball, short grass that speed up the path of the ball, slopes random placed throughout. Out of bound markers dictating where you absolutely can not go, fans staring at your every move not to mention the competition that adds nothing but pressure to attempt to get better with each and every stroke. If you do not get better you risk losing or at a minimum being left behind.
All you have is you, your ball which signifies your progress and location or lack there of. You have your equipment which supports your training, practice and preparedness for your winning campaign and if you are lucky you will have a caddie, a good caddie, someone off to the side who walks with you, giving you advice who is dedicated to seeing you succeed. The caddie can be a friend, a parent, a sibling, a significant other, in my case the caddie is my God.
You can not control nor are you responsible for all the obstacles in the field of play, all you are responsible for is how you play, how you hit the ball, where it lands and what you do next. You are responsible for the ball and the score you earn, no one else and nothing else only you…NO EXCUSES.
You are responsible for your life.
